Saurashtra region comprises of the south western part of the state of Gujarat. On the North west it has the Gulf of Kutch and on west side the Arebian sea. Accorsing to experts, Saurashtra is derived from Saur Rashtra. Saur means Sun, and Rashtra means country. It means the country of Sun. In antient times there were 12 sun temples in this region.
